The 70-acre site is situated in the Boyle Heights neighborhood, a rapidly redeveloping area southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Built in the 1940s, the original 1,200 units are in disrepair and require demolition. The owner seeks to replace the existing buildings in phases to limit the displacement of its current residents while also expanding the development to include additional residential and commercial facilities.
The proposed scheme incorporates a phased development strategy that would cater to the predominantly Latino population in this burgeoning community.
